A video of an elephant has gone viral on social media. According to the video, a herd of elephants is roaming around the human settlement on the edge of the forest.
Also in later episodes, the locals are seen trying to scare off an elephant which enrages the animal as it soon turns around and chases the locals for a while before disappearing into the forest.
“The herd of elephants has damaged several bighas of paddy crops in the area. We are now helpless,” a villager said.
The incident took place on Wednesday evening in Assam’s Rongjuli, Goalpara.
Reports says, the elephants came to the residence in search of food.
