BSE filings showed consolidated profit stood at Rs 939 Crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2023. The company’s total income in the quarter increased to Rs 16.464 Crore from Rs 13,325 Crore in the year-ago period. Consolidated net profit in fiscal 2023-24 rose to record Rs 4,280 Crore from Rs 3,810 Crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.

Total income will increase from Rs 56,547 Crore in FY 2024 to Rs 63,272 Crore in 2022-23.According to the statement, the market cap of the company has exceeded Rs 1.4 lakh Crore. The company achieved its highest ever revenue and EBITDA of Rs 61,542 Crore and Rs 12,701 Crore respectively in FY 2023-24.

The Hyderabad-based drug major had reported a profit after tax of Rs 959 Crore in the January-March quarter of financial year 2022-23. Revenue increased to Rs 7,083 Crore in the period under review from Rs 6,297 Crore in Q4FY13.

For the full year ending March 31, 2024, the drug major said its PAT increased to Rs 5,568 Crore compared to Rs 4,507 Crore in financial year 2022-23. Revenue increased to Rs 27,916 Crore in FY24, compared to Rs 24,588 Crore in FY23.

“Our growth and profitability in FY2024 is driven by our performance in the US. We have also made significant progress on future growth drivers through licensing, collaboration and pipeline building,” said GV Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director, Dr Reddy’s.

The company’s revenue in North American market increased by 28% to Rs 129.9 billion in FY 2024. The company said, “This growth was largely driven by growth in base business volumes, integration of the MENA portfolio, Foreign exchange gains were partially offset by price declines.”

The company said its revenue in the domestic market in FY2014 stood at Rs 46.4 billion, which was 5 percent less than in FY2013. The Dr Reddy’s board meeting held on Tuesday recommended a final dividend of Rs 40 against Rs 5 per share for the financial year 2023-24.

Pursuant to the approval by the RBI and based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the board of directors of the bank has approved the reappointment of Atanu Chakraborty as part-time chairman and independent director of the bank. Mr.Chakraborty is a retired IAS officer of the 1985 batch Gujarat cadre and has served in the government for 35 years. He was also Union finance secretary during FY20 apart from being the divestment secretary. Chakraborty also handled financial stability and currency, domestic and foreign-related issues as well.

He managed the flow of funds with multilateral and bilateral financial institutions and had multiple interfaces with them. He has also served as Secretary to the Union Government for Disinvestment (Department of Investment and Public Asset Management) wherein he was responsible for both policy as well as execution of the process of disinvestment of Government of India’s stake in state owned enterprises. An airline spokesperson said on Saturday that there are three fare families – Comfort, Comfort Plus and Flex – which offer different levels of benefits and fare restrictions at different price points. From May 2, the free cabin luggage allowance for ‘Comfort’ and ‘Comfort Plus’ categories has been reduced to 15 kg from 20 kg and 25 kg respectively. Before the introduction of the Fare Family concept, passengers on Air India domestic flights were allowed to carry 25 kg of cabin luggage without any extra charges.

On domestic route in economy class, both ‘Comfort’ and ‘Comfort Plus’ fare family now offer 15 kg luggage allowance, while ‘Flex’ offers 25 kg baggage allowance. Business class luggage (baggage) allowance on domestic routes ranges from 25 kg to 35 kg.

The spokesperson said that “Free luggage allowance on international flights varies from market to market”. Other domestic airlines also allow passengers to carry up to 15 kg of cabin baggage without extra charges. An Air India spokesperson said the fare families have been designed to give passengers the flexibility to choose the kind of fare and services that suit their needs, given that passengers today have poles apart preference, and a the one-size-fits-all approach is no longer the norm.
