Have More Tea, No More Puffs”: HCG’s anti-tobacco campaign resonates in Kolkata

HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, launched an impactful health campaign titled “Have More Tea, No More Puffs” on Head & Neck Cancer Day. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and promote tea as a healthier alternative.

The campaign involved distributing teacups with the slogan “Have More Tea, No More Puffs” to patrons at local tea stalls, where people often gather to smoke. This creative approach sought to make a lasting impression on the community, encouraging a shift towards healthier habits and reducing cancer risks associated with tobacco consumption. A highlight of the event was an interactive session with college students, conducted by a panel of experts including Dr. Rajeev Sharan, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Dr. Sohini Banerjee, and Dr. Debashish Bhattacharjee. They educated attendees on the dangers of tobacco, cancer symptoms, and the importance of early detection.
