In an effort to boost the state’s creative economy, the 11th Arunachal Film Festival (AFF) was formally opened on Friday night at TNZ Cinemas in Itanagar. The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organized this three-day event as a cultural effort of the state government to honor the state’s burgeoning film industry and showcase the artistic potential of its filmmakers. Gabriel D. Wangsu, Minister of Agriculture and Allies, expressed gratitude to the DIPR for supporting the AFF over the past ten years. He expressed hope that this creative center for filmmakers will provide a lively window into the rich customs and stunning natural beauty of Arunachal.The celebration was warmly attended by IPR Minister Nyato Dukam, Commissioner Nyali Ete, senior IPR department staff, and artists and filmmakers from several states. Along with other dignitaries, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and MLA/advisor Chau Zingnu Namchoom attended the opening film showing of “Chausang On – The Little Monk.”
