The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has urged owners of private and commercial buildings within its jurisdiction to paint and maintain their properties in a clean and presentable condition by November 30, 2026, ahead of the festive season. A field survey by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) has recorded a rich diversity of wild bees, including bumblebees, across the high-altitude landscapes of Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh. The findings have highlighted the importance of protecting alpine flowering plants and natural habitats that support pollinators in the Eastern Himalayas. The survey was conducted from September 15 to October 7 under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS). The flood situation in Assam showed signs of improvement on Sunday, but over 1.35 lakh people in five districts continue to remain affected by the deluge. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), three more deaths were reported from Sivasagar district, taking the total number of flood-related fatalities in the state this year to 85.
