As of March 9, Arunachal Pradesh’s Home Minister Mama Natung reported that 165 militants from various insurgent groups have surrendered over the past six years. Key figures include 47 militants in Tirap, 41 in Changlang, and 77 in Longding. Major groups involved are the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) with 50 cadres, along with other factions contributing to the total. Surrendered militants benefit from a Surrender and Rehabilitation Scheme, with ₹1.4 crore disbursed for support, including a rehabilitation camp operational since January and vocational training for 26 individuals this financial year. The scheme does not promise direct employment, and serious offenders will face legal consequences. There is ongoing monitoring of the rehabilitation process, with additional funds allocated for infrastructure improvements.
