BSF-Revenue Intelligence has caught more than a hundred gold biscuit smugglers from the India-Bangladesh border region with a market value of more than eight and a half crore rupees. BSF-Revenue Intelligence was accompanied by a team from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).
A house was raided in Vijaypur village of Krishnaganj police station on Saturday night after receiving information from secret sources. The officers of the 32nd Battalion of the BSF along with the members of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) team of Kolkata recovered a total of 106 gold biscuits from there.
Two people involved in the incident were also arrested. The arrested persons are Rabindranath Biswas and Bidhan Ghosh. Both are residents of Vijaypur village. It is known that they were accused of hiding this large amount of gold biscuits illegally in the homestead for smuggling purposes. BSF and DRI team attacked on getting that news. The weight of recovered gold biscuits is 14.296 kg.
During interrogation, the detainees said that they had collected the recovered gold biscuits from two smugglers named Masud and Nasir, residents of Nastipur village in Bangladesh on Saturday morning. They were supposed to be delivered to Santosh Halder, a resident of Gede village adjacent to Vijaypur area. Later they were recovered in a joint operation by BSF personnel of 32nd Battalion and DRI after receiving information from secret sources.
