25th National Youth Festival to be inaugurated by Narendra Modi on Wednesday, 12 Jan

The birth of Swami Vivekananda Academy which is observed as National Youth Day, this year, its inauguration will be done by PM Narendra Modi through video conferencing, to be held on Pondicherry.

Modi tweeted, “On the 12th, I would be taking part in the 25th National Youth Festival via video conferencing. Apart from asking my young friends to join the program, I also urge them to share their inputs as well. Always a delight to hear from India’s talented youth.”

Due to the rise of covid situation, the event is to be held in virtual form. The main aim of the festival is to shape and transform the minds of the youth to build a united nation socially, intellectually and culturally, “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”.


During the event, there will be many more session of discussion like, youth, climate, environment issues etc. Also open live discussion with Olympians and Paralympians.

 Modi will unveil selected essays on Mere Sapno ka Bharat and Unsung Heroes of Indian Freedom Movement. These essays have been selected from submissions by over one lakh youth on the two themes. Also he will inaugurate a Technology Centre of the MSME Ministry, established at Pondicherry.
