3 additional suspects arrested in case of theft due to drug addiction in Siliguri

Siliguri, 18th May (Retd.). Matigara police have arrested three additional suspects in connection with the theft of advertisement banners and hoardings from traffic signal posts due to drug addiction. The arrested persons have been identified as MD Karim, Appu Siddiqui and Awadh Kishore, who owns a scrap shop.
According to reports, a gang of criminals stole hoardings and banners put up in front of a mall in Matigara to support their drug habits. A private company lodged a formal complaint regarding the theft at Matigara police station on May 14. Acting on the complaint, Matigara police swiftly arrested an initial suspect from Vishwas Colony within a few hours. Later, after appearing in the court, the suspect was sent to custody.
Interrogation of the first suspect revealed the involvement of MD Karim, Appu and Awadh, who had purchased the stolen goods. As a result, Matigara police arrested the trio on Friday night and recovered the stolen goods from the junk shop. The three accused were presented in Siliguri court on Saturday.
