West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on June 6 said at least 31 passengers from her state are still missing five days after the devastating triple train accident at Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district.
Ms Banerjee, who landed in Cuttack to review the condition of the injured passengers, said the bodies of 103 passengers from West Bengal had been identified and 86 of them had reached their destination.
In West Bengal, around 200 injured persons were under treatment, she said. Odisha officials declined to comment on Ms Banerjee’s statement about the 31 missing passengers.
