Under India’s G20 Presidency, the fourth meeting of the Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG) is been convened from July 19 – 20, 2023in the vibrant state of Goa. G20 members, 100 delegates, special invitees, and international organizations attend meeting. G20 delegates, including Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Mines, and Coal, will attend a meeting on energy transition agenda to draft the outcome document for the Ministerial meeting in Goa on July 22, 2023.
The two-day meeting, chaired by Pankaj Agarwal, will focus on identifying best practices, policies, and innovative approaches for an equitable and inclusive energy transition. The meeting will discuss the draft Ministerial Communiqué and six priority areas: energy transitions, low-cost financing, energy security, energy efficiency, fuels for the future (3F), universal access to clean energy, and just, affordable, and inclusive pathways. India’s G20 Presidency is committed to strengthening global cooperation in the clean energy transition.
A side event on ‘Policy Support and Enablers to Accelerate India’s Electric Mobility’ was organized, featuring Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant discussing policy support for e-mobility acceleration. Meeting will take place to discuss solar energy promotion and DRE applications for SDG 7 goals.
