50 percent mothers in favour of dating apps

A recent survey has been conducted by TrulyMadly among 5,000 young men and women from across the country to find out the current stigmas associated with dating in India. The survey revealed that 86 percent mothers from Guwahati are increasingly endorsing love marriage for their children. Mothers in non-metros like Jaipur, Indore, and Lucknow are emerging champions of their daughters’ choice with 55 percent of respondents indicating men are pressurized more for marriage.
TrulyMadly’s survey also showed that nearly 70 percent female and 80 percent male respondents from Tier 1 and 2 cities indicated their mothers favor love marriage and 50 percent Indian mothers of both millennials and Generation Z (Gen Z) are now embracing the winds of change and getting comfortable with their children finding their forever partner on dating apps. Snehil Khanor, Co-founder & CEO, TrulyMadly said, “We went out to understand the stigmas and apprehensions around dating in India, but stumbled upon a completely transformed mindset of not only the younger generation but their parents as well.”
