6 Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists killed in Kashmir

According to the IG of Kashmir Vijay Kumar, six Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists have been killed by Jammu and Kashmir Police in two separate encounters on Wednesday evening in Anantnag and Kulgam district of Kashmir during a joint operation with security forces. Of the six, two are Pakistani terrorists and two are locals Anantnag district while two others are yet to be identified. The two local have been identified as Mufti Altaf and Nisar Ahmed Khande.

About three hours before the Kulgam encounter, at around 6.30 pm, in Naugam, Shahbad area of Anantnag district, the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with 19 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Indian Army and CRPF personnel launched an operation to nab the terrorists. According to reports, at around 9.15 pm, the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the Indian Army and CRPF personnel conducted a search operation on the information that the terrorists were hiding in Mirhama village of Kulgam district.As the jawans moved towards the suspected hideout of the terrorists, the terrorists hiding there started firing at them with automatic weapons.

Two Indian Army soldiers Rohit Yadav and Ishant, two jawans of 19 RR and a jawan of Jammu and Kashmir Police Deepak Kumar were injured. All the three have been admitted to the military hospital at Badami Bagh for treatment.
