7 people dead in a fire in shanties of Delhi’s Gokulpuri area

In Delhi, a fire has been broke out in the shanties of the Gokulpuri area. 7 people died in that fire.

A call was received around 1am at night, said by the Delhi Fire Services. It was about that fire. It has been said in a call that the fire had engulfed about 60 huts. But the cause of the fire has not been known yet.

To bring the situation under control, total 13 fire tenders were rushed to the fire spot. Fire department said that the fire tenders found 7 burned bodies in the spot.

Around 4 am in the morning the fire was finally doused. It has been said by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-east) Devesh Kumar Mahla.

Delhi Fire Director Atul Garg has been said that it seemed that the deceased people were sleeping when the fire broke out. So they could not running from the fire as the fire spread very fast.

Those 7 burned bodies which are recovered by the fire tenders at the spot are not recognisable. About 60 huts were also completely burnt in that fire.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his grief and said that he would visit the incident spot soon and talk to the family of the dead and affected people.
