85% Tap Water Connections Completed under Jal Jeevan Mission: Tripura CM

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that eighty-five percent of household tap water connections have been completed in the state as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission. He highlighted ongoing development efforts not only in Agartala but across twenty urban areas of Tripura. This announcement was made during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the rejuvenation and beautification of a pond at Hrishi Colony, Pratapgarh, under Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Ward Number 43. The project, which costs Rs 3.24 crore, is a collaboration between the Tripura Jal Board and the Agartala Municipal Corporation and is part of the AMRUT initiative.

During his address, the Chief Minister stated that Agartala is now considered the gateway of Tripura, with several significant infrastructure projects in progress, including the Ring Road, Unity Mall, and plans to establish a five-star restaurant. He also mentioned prospective plans to reopen Kailashahar Airport and reported the development of 682 Amrit Sarovars throughout the state aimed at revitalizing groundwater levels. The program was attended by various dignitaries including Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Mayor Deepak Majumder, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, and numerous officials from the Urban Development Department.
