In a festive gesture ahead of Durga Puja, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for government employees and pensioners, effective October 1, 2025.
Addressing the concluding session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, Dr. Saha described the hike as a “special Durga Puja gift” for state employees, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce despite financial constraints. The additional allocation for implementing the raise is estimated at Rs 125 crore, benefiting thousands of employees and pensioners across the state.
“Even a 1% increase costs approximately Rs 100 crore. We felt it necessary to provide this relief, particularly during the festive season, to ensure employees can celebrate Durga Puja with some financial ease,” the Chief Minister said, recalling that a 29% DA hike had been implemented after assuming office.
