The trailer and music of the suspense thriller Bengali film ‘Borfi’, directed by Souvik Dey, were launched at the Diamond Plaza Mall in Nagerbazar on March 18. Kaushik Sen plays the lead role in Showik’s ‘Barfi!’ The film’s release is imminent. But the director claims that Kaushik did not participate in the promotional events for this film. Addressing a press conference at the Kolkata Press Club on Tuesday, the director of the film said, “Kaushik Sen is not coming to any of our events. We repeatedly requested Kaushik Sen, but he is never keeping his word. As a result, the promotion of the story is being disrupted”. However, there was no response from Kaushik Sen on the matter.
The demand for outstanding remuneration in the Bengali film industry or the complaints related to the shooting are not new. However, this time, director Shovik Dey has made a new one in Tollywood on such allegations. He said, “The day that shoot ends, I pay him the remuneration. He’s a great actor. He agreed to act because he liked the script. I’m not sure why he did that after that.”The producers also claimed that Kaushik initially agreed to devote time to the promotion of the film. The director said, “I asked him for two days. But Kaushik da said that he is not even in the promotion of the film of the top directors in the industry! But if this happens with new directors, it is a loss for the Bengali film industry.’’
Shovik further said, “My film will be released next month. Kaushik da plays the lead role in the film. But he is not ready to be a part of the promotion of the film. It will damage my picture. Shovik is the young director of Tollywood. Seeing no other way for an actor like Kaushik to withdraw from the promotions of the film, Shovik held a press conference on Tuesday and brought the matter to the attention of the media. The film is all set to entertain the audience in various theaters across Bengal early next month. The story of the film is about one mysterious murder after another in Kolkata. The film stars Chandreyi Ghosh, Kaushik Sen, Amit Shetty, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Aritra Dutta Banik and Anamika Saha in pivotal roles.
