A curfew will be imposed in Goa from May 9 to May 23, said CM Pramod Sawant

On Friday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Goa would impose a “strict, state-level” curfew from May 9 to May 23 , increased of covid-19 cases.

Necessary items and grocery stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Medical stores will also be functional, Sawant said, adding that restaurant kitchens will be allowed to stay open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Goa on Thursday reported its highest daily tally so far with 3,869 COVID-19 cases that took the count of infections to 1,08,267, an official from the health department said.

As many as 2,023 patients were discharged from hospitals, raising the number of recoveries to 77,014, leaving the state with 29,752 active cases, he said.

The statistics of Goa COVID-19 are as follows: 1,08,267 positive cases, 3869 new cases, 1,501 deaths, 77,014 exempted cases, 29,752 active cases, up to 6,90,359 samples tested.
