A man allegedly murdered his longtime friend over a financial dispute, and then hired a private cab to dump the body in a forest 35 kilometers outside the city.
After the incident, the cab driver informed the police and the accused was arrested.
According to sources, the murder took place on Thursday morning and the driver was called by the accused on the phone, who had booked his cab ‘offline’.
The accused, identified as Hitesh Das, took the cab driver to Kamalpur, where he dumped the bag containing the body deep in the forest. When the driver saw blood while dropping the bag and interrogated the accused, he confessed to the incident. At the same time, the accused threatened the driver not to inform anyone about this.
