A Plus Charge, a Guwahati-based electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has launched 10 new charging stations across the Northeast in recent months, with 28 more ready for deployment or under construction, as it targets 1,000 public DC chargers across the region by 2030.
Founded by Samyak Jain, the Assam government-recognised startup operates across Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura, with its network spanning Siliguri, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Shillong and Agartala. New stations are planned for Dimapur, Itanagar and Aizawl, while a charger in Cherrapunjee is expected to become operational in November.
Under its NEEV highway charging programme, the company is strengthening connectivity along the Guwahati–Jorhat corridor, with charging points at Sonapur, Jagiroad, Jakhalabandha and Bokakhat. Around 95% of its stations are located at highway stops, restaurants, resorts, dhabas and cafes. The programme also covers the Guwahati–Cherrapunjee route.
The company follows a local-ownership model in which businesses and landowners own charging stations, while A Plus Charge manages operations. The PM E-DRIVE scheme provides an 80% subsidy on charger capital expenditure, subject to approvals and feasibility assessments.
A venture of clean energy company AlternatEV, A Plus Charge aims to achieve 50% EV penetration across the Northeast by 2030.
