Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad (AVMA) has been awarded the prestigious Green School Award at the 7th NYC Green School Conference. The award was given to the school for its eco-conscious approach to education, which focuses on biodiversity. AVMA has taken initiatives to help families address their children’s educational needs, such as setting aside money for higher education or career transitions.
The school has also implemented eco-clubs and programs to engage students in tree planting, waste reduction, and conservation, and has a food safety committee.AVMA has transformed its campus into an eco-friendly one, using solar power and rainwater harvesting systems. The school is actively seeking global partnerships and collaborations, including with UNICEF and UNESCO.
AVMA is the only private school in Gujarat to collaborate with UNICEF and the first private school in Ahmedabad city to be accredited by the NABET under the Quality Council of India. The school also participated in the Climate Action Summit, 2023, with UNICEF. The recognition comes on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
