Afghanistan’s Central Bank to soon ban the use of Pakistani currency

Central Bank of Afghanistan has issued a notice regarding the ban on use of Pakistani currency in the southern provinces of Afghanistan- Kandahar, Uruzgan, Helmand, Zabul, and Dykundi.

People residing in southern provinces have been given a time period of two and half months to perform their transactions using Afghani currency and are strictly said to refrain from foreign currencies. Residents are also advised to cease their trade transactions using the Pakistani currency (Rupee) and have been provided a deadline.

The notice also states that any transactions made after the given time limit using foreign currencies will be held illegal and legal action will be taken against violators.
