After heavy snowfall Sikkim stops issuing Nathula permits for tourists

The administration in sikkim has stopped issue permits to tourists to go to Nathula. This call was taken by the Sikkim police late on Thursday following serious precipitation within the chain of Himalayan  state.

Apart from Nathula, issue of tourer permits to go to Tsomgo have conjointly been suspended. According to weather report, a lot of snow is probably going to fall within the next few days within the higher components of north and east sikkim.

Although travel Tsomgo and Nathula has been illegal by the geographical region authorities, variety of tourists can still rise till the primary week of the New Year. On the opposite hand, alternative tourer hotspots in sikkim like Lachen and Lachung are still open for tourists. Notably, Nathula in sikkim is just accessible to Indian nationals with applicable licenses.
