Agartala launches first FIH-certified hockey field

In a landmark development for sports in Agartala, the city’s first-ever FIH-certified hockey ground was unveiled, marking a significant upgrade to the region’s sports infrastructure. Developed by the Agartala Sports Department in collaboration with Gallant Sports, this state-of-the-art facility is part of the Khelo India Scheme and promises to be a game-changer for local hockey enthusiasts.

The project faced initial hurdles, including an uneven ground level, but Gallant Sports overcame these challenges to ensure the ground met international standards. Nasir Ali, CEO of Gallant Sports, emphasized the project’s impact, stating, “We are proud to deliver a hockey ground that meets FIH standards. This facility will inspire and nurture young talent, fostering a culture of excellence in Indian hockey.”

In Agartala, the new hockey ground is set to boost local sports activities and community engagement, drawing attention from regional sports enthusiasts and schools.
