Air Force Got Nearly 57,000 Applications Under ‘Agnipath’ Scheme

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has received 56,960 applications under the ‘Agnipath’ recruitment scheme till Sunday, within 3 days of registration on Friday, a week after violent protests against it rocked several states.

“56960! This is the total number of intentions received till date from future ‘Agniveers’ in response to the ‘Agnipath’ recruitment application process.
Registration will close on July 5,” the IAF Twitted on Sunday.

Unveiling the ‘Agnipath’ scheme on June 14, the government said youth aged between 17 and 21 would be recruited for a four-year term, with 25 per cent of their dues. This fact includes for daily service.

Several parts of the country witnessed violent protests against the project.

The government has raised the maximum age limit for recruitment under the scheme from 21 to 23 years for a period of 12 months from 16 June 2022 and has consequently announced several laudable measures like preference for central paramilitary forces and defense public zone initiatives. retirement

Many BJP-ruled states have announced that more ‘Agnivirs’, as the soldiers will be known, will be given priority for induction into the state police force.

The armed forces, however, made it clear that those who had indulged in violent protests and arson against the new recruitment scheme would now not be inducted.
