Air India shares first look of its planes with new logo

Tata Group-owned Air India shared the first look of its new A350 planes wearing a paintjob to match its new livery. The airline rebranded itself earlier this year with a new red-aubergine-gold look and a new logo ‘The Vista’.

The latest A350 images were clicked at a workshop in Toulouse, France, with newly painted planes arriving in India this winter, the airline said.

“Here’s the first look of the majestic A350 in our new livery at the paint shop in Toulouse. Our A350s start coming home this winter… @Airbus” Air India said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

A $400 million overhaul of its entire fleet is being spent to incorporate the new look.
Air India had earlier said that its new logo, The Vista, was inspired by the pinnacle of the golden window frame. The airline wants to completely transform itself with a touch of legacy, top officials said. The new livery and design feature a palette of deep red, abergine and gold highlights, as well as a cycle-inspired pattern.

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson had earlier said, “Our transformative new brand reflects our ambition to position Air India as a world-class airline serving global guests and proudly represents a new India on the world stage. “

By 2025, all Air India aircraft will have the new logo, he said.
The announcement was made in August, months after Air India signed multi-billion dollar aircraft contracts with Airbus and Boeing.
