Akasa Air expands network beyond 200 daily departures, strengthens Kolkata presence

Akasa Air has expanded its operations beyond 200 daily departures, strengthening connectivity across key domestic markets and international destinations as the airline seeks to capitalise on growing demand for air travel in India.

The expansion includes increased flight frequencies on major metro corridors, new city connections and additional domestic and international capacity. Anand Srinivasan, co-founder and chief commercial officer, said the airline was focusing on strengthening routes with rising demand, connecting economic centres with emerging destinations and expanding its international footprint while maintaining service standards.

In North India, Akasa Air operates 196 weekly departures from Delhi, connecting 14 cities. It has added frequencies to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Goa and introduced daily direct services linking Jaipur and Udaipur with Bengaluru and Mumbai. Daily flights from Chandigarh to Bengaluru and Goa have also strengthened its network.

Bengaluru offers connectivity to 19 domestic and three international destinations: Abu Dhabi, Phuket and Jeddah. The air line has also expanded operations in Kerala.

Akasa Air has increased its Kolkata operations to 95 weekly departures, connecting the city non-stop to eight destinations. The establishment of a crew base is expected to support further operational growth. The expanded network could improve regional accessibility, support tourism and facilitate business travel across eastern India.

On key corridors, the airline operates six daily Mumbai–Delhi flights, five Bengaluru–Delhi flights and two Delhi–Kolkata services, offering passengers greater scheduling flexibility.
