The income tax department of India has replaced its old portal with a new one on June 7, 2021. After this the Income Tax department has informed tax payers via an e-mail communication, asking them to re-register their digital signature certificate (DSC) once again on the newly launched IT website. This new portal comes with a lot of new features and is expected to give a smarter and smoother Income Tax Return (ITR) filing experience to the users.
Announcing the launch of its new portal, the income tax department tweeted, “We proudly present to our valued taxpayers, the new e-Filing portal http://incometax.gov.in. Designed with your convenience in mind, the portal offers features to make your e-filing experience smoother, simpler & smarter. You Come First, Always!”
From pre-filled income tax return forms to quick refunds — the new portal has a tons of features to make your tax filing journey easy and convenient for example New online tax payment system with multiple new payment options through net banking, UPI, credit card RTGS, NEFT, Mobile App which will help the taxpayers to get used to the various new features that have been launched, Pre-Filing Of ITR and many more. The aim is to provide a “modern and seamless experience to taxpayers. It will also have a free ITR preparation software with interactive questions to help taxpayers file ITRs.
