Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) on Wednesday launched AM/NS Pelican, a premium galvanised steel brand aimed at India’s construction, infrastructure, manufacturing and engineering sectors, as demand rises for durable and low-maintenance materials.
The company said the Indian galvanised steel market was estimated at 7.65 million tonnes in CY25 and is projected to grow at an annual rate of 8% through 2030. Pelican is designed to offer corrosion protection, uniform coating quality, consistent performance and formability, making it suitable for applications including roofing and roof-support sections, tubes, air-conditioning and ventilation systems, cable trays, fencing, furniture, drums and barrels, and general engineering.
RanjanDhar, Director and Vice President – Sales & Marketing, AM/NS India, said customers are increasingly seeking steel solutions tailored to specific applications and performance requirements. “AM/NS Pelican offers a high-quality galvanised steel solution that combines reliable corrosion protection with consistent quality and performance,” Dhar said.
In Kolkata, the launch comes as demand for corrosion-resistant steel can benefit construction, infrastructure and industrial applications across the eastern market, where durability and reduced maintenance are important considerations.
Pelican will be manufactured using AM/NS India’s galvanising capabilities and distributed through its nationwide customer and distribution network. It joins Structromax and Weldstar, launched earlier this year as part of the company’s expanding specialised steel portfolio.
