On Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma awards, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised all the “exceptional individuals” who were honoured. “We extend our congratulations to the deserving recipients of today’s Padma Awards. Mr. Narendra Modi Ji has transformed the Padma Awards into evidence of what the human spirit and a steely will are capable of. May the inspiration from their triumphs over adversity spread to all,” tweeted Shah. Later in the evening, the home minister also hosted a supper for the recipients.
