Ruling BJP is set to retain all five MLA seats spread in three autonomous hill districts of Assam- Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao have virtually become the impregnable fortress of the BJP party. To seal the prospect of the party in the ensuing Assam Legislative Assembly election, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Karbi Anglong on February 25.
Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang who has defeated opposition in the hills is viewing the visit of the Amit Shah as a future political opportunity more than election prerequisite.
The election rally of Shah will take place at Den Gaon around 130 kilometers from Diphu, headquarter town of Karbi Anglong autonomous district. According to Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang, a mammoth gathering has been planned encompassing three MLA segments of Karbi Anglong district i.e. Diphu, Howraghat and Bokajan. He mentioned that the theme of the rally will be “Unity and Development”.
Executive Member of Autonomous Council elected from Mahamaya and Nomati constituency Lunsing Teron and Ritesh Enghi have been pressed into action for organizing the massive political show.
Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang and Member of Parliament ( Lok Sabha) Horensing Bey, and top brasses of state and district BJP leaders are overseeing the underpinning of the mega political event.
According to politically cognizant sections of Karbi Anglong, the visit of Shah is significant for the political prospect of this autonomous zone of Assam which has a different political dimension than mainstream Brahmaputra and Barak valley.
