Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has granted a 30-year concession to AMNS Paradip Logistics Private Limited (APLPL), a special purpose vehicle of AM/NS India, for the mechanisation and captive operation of the CQ-III berth for handling dry bulk cargo with a capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum.
The Award of Concession was presented by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways SarbanandaSonowal to Deepak Arora, Chief – Corporate Affairs, AM/NS India, at a function held at Biju Convention in Paradeep, Odisha, on August 21.
The concession is expected to facilitate seamless cargo movement and improve the operational efficiency of AM/NS India. Under the arrangement, APLPL will handle iron ore pellet shipments through a fully mechanised conveyor system connecting AM/NS India’s pellet plant complex directly to the berth.
The facility will also support coastal shipping of iron ore pellets from Paradeep to Hazira, strengthening the company’s logistics and supply chain network.
The concession has been awarded in line with the Government of India’s policy to promote coastal shipping as an economical, fuel-efficient and environmentally sustainable mode of transportation.
Odisha Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, PPA Chairman P. L. Haranadh, Deputy Chairman T. Venu Gopal and AM/NS India’s Head of Odisha Operations U.S.R. Raju were among those present at the event.
