Amway India hosts a webinar with FICCI

Amway India, one of the country’s leading FMCG direct selling companies, partnered with FICCI to host a webinar on Entrepreneurship Opportunities in the North-East post-COVID-19 era. The webinar was attended by Ashish Phookan, Chairman, FICCI Assam State Council, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and Ronn Pakrashi, Chairman- sub-committee of agro-food processing, FICCI Assam state council amongst others. The special digital event focused on the emerging opportunities created by various industries in the region with the rise of the gig economy in the current scenario.

Rajat Banerji, Mentor, FICCI Direct Selling Task Force and Vice-President – Corporate Affairs, Amway India, who was one of the panellists in the webinar said, “At a time when the country is grappling with job losses, unemployment and salary cuts, the rise of micro-entrepreneurship is likely to gain momentum, creating more opportunities.  In this context, direct selling has the potential to be considered as an alternate source of revenue, as it offers a zero-investment, guided entrepreneurial opportunity. Aligned with the Indian Government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative, Amway has been significantly contributing towards skill development and nurturing entrepreneurship in the country by providing an entrepreneurial opportunity to those who want to own and run a business while focusing on enhancing skills and competencies of our existing direct sellers. I am grateful to FICCI for giving us this opportunity to share some of the initiatives Amway has undertaken over the years to foster the growth of entrepreneurship in the country”.

Driven by its vision of helping people live better, healthier lives, Amway offers millions of people the opportunity to own and operate their own business. Currently, Amway has a strong base of over 5.5 lakh micro-entrepreneurs of which more than 60% are women.

Amway has successfully conducted over 4000 online training to digitally empower over 5 lakh micro-entrepreneurs across regions
