‘Ane’s Home’ opens in Itanagar for trauma survivors

In a significant push for community welfare and progressive law enforcement, Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung launched a series of new initiatives by the capital police, reflecting the state’s commitment to enhancing security and victim support.Among the projects is the newly opened Chimpu Police Station, a state-of-the-art facility designed to streamline public service and improve response times, marking a milestone in the modernization of Arunachal Pradesh’s police infrastructure. Led by DGP Anand Mohan and SP Itanagar Rohit Rajbir Singh, this initiative underscores a forward-thinking approach to law enforcement.

In a groundbreaking move, the Women Police Station in Itanagar introduced “Ane’s Home,” India’s first comprehensive support center for trauma survivors. This facility provides legal aid, trauma counseling, a safe space for children, and wellness resources, offering victims the tools to rebuild with dignity and hope. The Police Ajin Canteen, also inaugurated at Itanagar Police Station, fosters unity among officers by providing a welcoming environment for relaxation and camaraderie.

Adding to these efforts, the launch of the official theme song for Operation Dawn, titled “Roshni,” highlights the force’s anti-drug initiative, symbolizing a united front against drug abuse in Arunachal Pradesh. Home Minister Natung commended the capital police for their dedication and called on the community to work together in building a safer, more prosperous state.
