Renowned Indian actor Anupam Kher has announced that he will be portraying the iconic poet, philosopher, and essayist Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th film. The news was shared by Kher on his Instagram, where he posted a photo of his first look as the revered poet.
In the striking black-and-white image, Anupam is seen in an outfit reminiscent of Rabindranath Tagore’s signature style.
Sporting white hair and a long beard, he gave a serious expression as he looked down at the floor.
The post is accompanied by an instrumental rendition of Tagore’s famous song “Sakhi, Bhabona Kahare Bole” playing in the background.
Expressing his happiness, Anupam mentioned in the caption, “Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project.Will reveal the details in due course.”
Rabindranath Tagore, honored as the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913, was not only a literary genius but also the author of the national anthems of India and Bangladesh. He is widely known for his poetic songs, which are called Rabindra Sangeet. His contribution to literature and art is profound.
Along with this prestigious role, Anupam Kher’s upcoming projects include director Anurag Basu’s star-studded anthropology film “Metro in Dino”, which is set to release on March 29, 2024.
Additionally, Anupam will be seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Vaccine War”, which revolves around India’s efforts to develop a Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic.
