Anurag Thakur condemned the violence during a Ram Navami procession in West Bengal

Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, blasted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday for her government’s alleged “silent spectator” behaviour as followers of Lord Ram were harassed and hurt during a Ram Navami parade.
The state government’s response to the violence, according to the information and broadcasting minister, was “shameful,” and he asked that those responsible be held accountable.
On Thursday night, during a Ram Navami procession in the Kazipara neighbourhood of Howrah, fighting broke out between two groups. During the unrest, a number of vehicles, including some police vehicles, were set on fire. Moreover, a number of businesses were looted.
