Army Helicopter crashes in Jammu Kashmir’s Kishtwar District

An army helicopter carrying two people crashed in a forest area on Thursday in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials. No casualties have been reported yet, but more details are awaited.

Officials said the accident took place in the Marwah area of ​​the hill district.

A defense spokesman said a search operation had been launched.

Earlier this March, two pilots were killed after an Indian Army Cheetah helicopter crashed in the Mandalay hills of Arunachal Pradesh.

A search operation was launched by the Indian Army, Armed Seema Bal (SSB) and police after the accident.

The officials informed the Army’s Cheetah helicopter was on an operational alert when it lost contact with air traffic controllers. It reportedly crashed near Mandalay, west of Bomdila.
