Article 370 abolished from J&k, Assam CM praises SC

Supreme Court has upheld abrogation of Jammu & Kashmir special status, Article 370; the status is abolished and said it to be temporary provision. After the SC verdict, the Election Commission of India has been directed to conduct assembly elections in the now union territory of Jammu and Kashmir by September 30, 2024.

On the Supreme Court’s historic verdict, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has praised SC for the taken decision. He said, “The Supreme Court judgment on Article 370 solidifies the longstanding principle of ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ (One Great India).”

Further, the Assam CM has also applauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his important role in successful abrogation of Article 370 of Jammu & Kashmir.
