In a significant event for Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu led a high-speed journey along the Subansiri River to mark progress in the state’s development and tourism. He emphasized the occasion as historic and expressed gratitude to stakeholders, particularly NHPC, for their support in advancing the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, expected to generate 2,000 MW by December 2026. Khandu highlighted the state’s natural potential, commitment to sustainable revenue through policy, and the pristine beauty that offers immense tourism opportunities. A master plan for sustainable tourism development will be established, promoting eco-friendly infrastructure and local community engagement. Acknowledging the Hydro Power Department’s efforts, he called for collective participation in the developmental process.
