In a significant boost to infrastructure, the Arunachal Pradesh government and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) have jointly allocated ₹100 crore for projects at Parshuram Kund, aiming to make it one of Northeast India’s major pilgrimage sites. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, during his inspection of the Riverfront Development Site in Lohit district, confirmed that the state and DoNER ministry each contributed ₹50 crore towards this initiative.
The funds will support the construction of key facilities, including a guest house, pilgrim lodge, and other amenities. Mein also discussed preparations for the Parshuram Kund Mela 2025 with local officials and stakeholders, including MLA Tezu Dr. Mohesh Chai and ADC Wakro. The deputy chief minister directed the Parshuram Kund Development Trust and District Administration to arrange accommodation for 2,000 visitors per night during the Mela. Additionally, he recommended a ₹50-lakh fund for the trust to ensure smooth management of the event, which draws thousands of pilgrims every January during Makar Sankranti.
Mein reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing facilities, aiming to provide a spiritually enriching experience for the increasing number of devotees visiting the sacred site.
