Arunachal offers free coaching, incentives for UPSC aspirants

According to Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona, the state government is using an institute in New Delhi to offer free coaching to UPSC candidates from indigenous communities. In response to a question in the Assembly, the minister stated that candidates taking the civil services exam are also receiving one-time financial incentives from the government. According to him, students who pass the preliminary exam receive Rs 2 lakh, while those who pass the final exam receive Rs 3 lakh.

According to Sona, students who pass national-level exams administered by the Union Public Service Commission—such as the NDA, CDS, Indian Forest Service, and Indian Engineering Service—will receive a one-time financial aid of Rs 2 lakh. He added that indigenous kids who are admitted to prestigious universities like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, and National Law Universities receive a one-time stipend of Rs 2 lakh. According to the minister, the government has set up vocational counseling services in all of the state’s colleges and, in partnership with the British Council of India, has taught tribal kids language improvement classes.
