Arunachal Pradesh launches ‘Mission Olympic 2028’ and ‘2032’

On National Sports Day, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu launched a series of ambitious sports initiatives designed to enhance the state’s athletic infrastructure and support local talent. These initiatives are integral to the state’s broader vision under ‘Mission Olympic 2028’ and ‘Mission Olympic 2032,’ aimed at preparing athletes for both national and international stages.

A centerpiece of the announcement is the construction of a new football stadium, set to surpass the Golden Jubilee Stadium in Itanagar in both size and modernity. This new facility will serve as a central hub for football, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities.

In addition to the stadium, several other sports facilities are either under development or in the planning stages, promising top-notch training environments for athletes. The state will also host the ‘Arunachal Olympic,’ a biennial event designed to offer athletes a platform to demonstrate their skills and foster participation in various sports.

Upcoming events, including a rafting championship, will further highlight the state’s commitment to sports. CM Khandu encouraged the youth to engage actively in sports, emphasizing its role in personal development and state pride. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting athletes from grassroots levels to national and international competitions.
