Union Minister Jual Oram told Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik, the governor of Arunachal Pradesh, on Thursday about the extra central aid Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the state outside of the central programs. During a meeting with the governor at Raj Bhawan here, the tribal affairs minister, who is currently in the northeastern state, explained that 17 ministries, including housing, health, education, telecommunication, and sports, are sponsoring the central assistance under the coordination of his ministry. Oram stated that the state might make a bid for these on the grounds that it will help the tribal communities.
According to a Raj Bhawan communiqué, the governor and the minister talked about welfare initiatives for the state’s indigenous populations. Parnaik emphasized throughout the conference the necessity of a more focused strategy to accomplish integrated socio-economic development in the state. In order to overcome significant gaps in important areas including education, health, agriculture, skill development, employment, and income production, the governor also argued for specific central aid.
“The youth of Arunachal Pradesh could achieve greater success and bring sporting recognition to the nation with state-of-the-art facilities, advanced equipment, scientific support, specialized training, and comprehensive provisions,” he said. Parnaik also talked about initiatives to support tribal entrepreneurship, economic advancement, and livelihood opportunities. He emphasized the importance of improving the efficiency of tribal product procurement, logistics, and marketing in order to provide livelihood prospects for tribal artisans in the northeastern regions. Oram expressed gratitude for the recommendations and promised the governor that Arunachal Pradesh’s needs will be met.
