Thembang Fortified Village, located in Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district, is presently listed as a final tentative UNESCO World Heritage Site. An important step toward the village's preservation and recognition was taken when a public meeting-cum-hearing was held to examine the steps needed to get it on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Shri Choiki Dondup, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Dirang, presided over the meeting. The creation of a thorough site management plan and infrastructure preparedness for heritage conservation were the main topics of the discussion.
