Itanagar, July 25, 2024: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu addressed the media at the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today, highlighting the stringent penalty clauses in the newly enacted law aimed at curbing paper leaks in public examinations. "According to me, this Act imposes stringent punishments, including a fine of up to ₹1 crore, imprisonment of up to 10 years, and penalties for examinees involved in malpractices. This Act will be instrumental in preventing such malpractices in the future. Landslides wreak havoc in Itanagar, DC initiates immediate highway clearing

Arunachal Pradesh reported its first COVID-19 death after a 43-year old woman died due to the deadly virus on Wednesday night.The woman breathed her last while she was transferred to the COVID health center in Tombo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun.State Surveillance Officer, L Jampa said that the woman was undergoing hemodialysis and planning for kidney transplant at Delhi. But due to the prevailing situation, the procedure couldn’t be completed and returned to the state on June 11.

Arunachal records highest with 32 fresh Covid positive cases

The state , Arunachal Pradesh reported its first Covid positive cases on 2nd April after a 31 years old man , who attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi tested positive. He recovered and was discharged from hospital on 16th April 2020. The state registered its highest single day spike un Covid-19 cases as 32 more people tested positive for it, a senior health official said it on Saturday. The state reported its second case after a gap of six weeks on May 24 when a student returning from the national capital tested positive for the deadly virus.
