Under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma initiative, Assam Government has started preparation for Bohag Bihu celebration on April, Assam. Workshop in 31 district of Assam held, 11,000 performers and musician are booked for the celebration.
This year Assam is aiming for Guinness World record for the folk dance of Assam. Also Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about attend the celebration this year along with other ministers from other states too will be invited.
“We want to popularize Bihu and take it globally. A total of 11,140 dancers will participate in the record attempt, which will include ‘Bihuwa’ and ‘Bihuvati’ (Assamese men and women in traditional Muga dress to perform Bihu). are) involved,” Sarma said.
