Assam CM hits back on opposition parties for rape case

Recently, a video from Manipur hit violence was surfaced over the internet making the world in shock for the inhumanity, which showed two women being paraded naked in the daylight crowded with men.

On Friday, Assam Chief Minister interacting to the media on a press conference questioned the timing of the video which got leaked before the commencement of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament as the incident took place on May 4, 2023.

Sarma also claimed that incidents of rape are much higher in some opposition-ruled states like West Bengal, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh than BJP-ruled Manipur or other northeastern provinces.

The CM added saying, “the case was registered long back, and video was available. It was leaked a day before the commencement of the Parliament session. So, some kind of political things are involved.”
