Assam Govt Eyes on Guinness World Record for Rongali Bihu 

This year preparation for Rongali Bihu in Assam has already taken place which is celebrated in the month of April every year.  For Assamese people the month of New Year begins from April also termed as “Bohag”.

Assam government is aiming to make a Guinness Book of Records for a Rongali Bihu function this year.  

According to sources, 10,000 to 15,000 young boys and girls will perform the traditional Bihu dance in Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be visiting the state during the festival.

The government will try to enter the state festival ‘Bihu’ in the Guinness Book of World Records during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam on April 14, the Chief Minister said.

To look after the event the government has formed a cabinet committee. This year celebration for the festival will be in the biggest form as government is aiming Guinness World Record.
