On the momentous occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, the 20th Battalion of the Assam Rifles, operating under the 23 Sector, marked a historic achievement by unfurling the tallest National Flag in South Mizoram. Standing at an impressive 50 feet tall, the flag was raised at a staggering altitude of 3,908 feet above sea level, symbolizing the triumph of patriotism and national unity. The ceremony, held on January 26, 2025, was dedicated to the brave soldiers of the Assam Rifles and the freedom fighters of Mizoram who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s independence.
The flag hoisting event saw an outpouring of enthusiasm and support from a diverse group of attendees, including local residents, families of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen, school children, and Assam Rifles personnel. The atmosphere was charged with patriotic fervor, as the event honored the sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom.
