On Republic Day, this year Assam will highlight the message of gender equality in New Delhi which is celebrated every year with different theme from different states of the country.
According to sources, 144 strong contingents of Assam Rifles will participate in the parade with an equal number of riflemen and riflemen. The contingent will also be supported by the Assam Rifles Military Band. The contingent consists of 72 riflemen and 72 riflewomen which is unique and a source of pride for all.
Captain Akshay will lead the team and will include soldiers recruited from across the country underlining the message of unity in diversity.
